By now you've probably been bombarded with a plethora of emails, posts, tweets, and blog posts about this giant thing called GDPR.
But what IS GDPR? Is it relevant to all of us?
The simplest way to put it is: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It addresses the export of personal data outside the EU.
Here's what's happening at Showcase to keep in line with these new regulations (because rules are rules people).
We have updated our Privacy Policy to keep pace with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) taking effect on May 25, 2018. At Showcase, these updates will apply to all users, not just users in the EU, and are intended to make it easy to understand the personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and store it. The updates also explain how we use cookies and how you can manage those cookies.
There is no action required on your part and it is not necessary to change the way you use Showcase.
If you require a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), ours is available here.
These changes will take effect for existing users of our services on May 25, 2018 (that's today).
We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
Thanks from all the team here at Showcase HQ.
